Gerd, the man who used to
have Rheumatoid Arthritis

Gerd came to Caring Medical on 12/12/98 with severe Rheumatoid Arthritis. He was taking up to 1600mg of Ibuprofen per day and Azulfidine. He was put on Azulfidine after visiting the Mayo Clinic to try and get his Rheumatoid Arthritis under control, but it didn’t work. His energy level was terrible. "Doc, something has to be done. I can barely move in the mornings and feel horrible all day." He was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 1981, but only recently had it gotten out of control.

On physical examination, his joints were hot and swollen. "Gerd, you’re a mess. You need a doctor. Is there a doctor in the house? Oh, I’m a doctor." Gerd was put through the Caring Medical Metabolic Typing program. Not much else needed to be checked because he brought a lot of test results which showed his ESR (erythrocyte sedimentation rate) was 119. Other tests showed that he had leaky gut, candidiasis and rhodotorula infection, as well as various bacterial infections, a moderate brewer’s yeast food allergy, anemia, and amino acid deficiencies. In summary, the ESR showed that Gerd had severe systemic inflammation, despite the high amount of anti-inflammatories he was taking. The most likely cause was his various types of infections. He was placed on an antibiotic and antifungal medication, and received ozone therapy and vitamin B12/Iron/Folate shots.

On 1/6/99 his rheumatoid factor titers were 1:640, and his ESR was 53. He was encouraged to continue the same regime which included a lot of cod liver oil and the vegetarian diet that his metabolic typing testing results showed. On 2/1/99 his ESR was down to 21 and his rheumatoid factor was still positive. By 3/15/99 his ESR was at 16 (essentially normal) and his rheumatoid factor was negative! Gerd could not believe it, so he made us re-test it on 4/12/99 and again it was negative.

People with Rheumatoid Arthritis have no idea that they can become rheumatoid factor negative. Rheumatoid factor is an IgG antibody that attacks the joints. The cure for Rheumatoid Arthritis sometimes occurs when the person’s body doesn’t have to produce so many IgG antibodies as occurred with Gerd. Antibodies are like torpedoes. The body makes them to attack or fight something, as in an infection or an allergy. Remove the allergen, or kill the infection (with medications or herbs) and wallah, no more Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Remember when modern medicine says, "We’ll switch you to this medications," or "I don’t know what’s wrong," or "We need to do surgery", or "Nothing more can be done", that there is a place to get some of the best treatments from around the world and that place is Caring Medical and Rehabilitation Services where The Care of the Patient Begins with Prolotherapy…we mean Caring!

All medical procedures have risks, these risks should always be discussed with your physician. There is no known cure for arthritis. Prolotherapy can help aleviate, reverse, or end arthritic pain by treating an underlying cause that contributes to degenerative disease, ligament laxity. Strengthening ligaments and other connective tissue can help prevent bone on bone arthritis from developing.
