Plaquex is compromised of essential phospholipds, with 70% of it being
phosphatidylcholine. Studies have shown that one of the biochemical
changes which occur with aging is a change in membrane lipid composition
with levels of phosphatidylcholine declining substantially. In
animal studies it has been shown that the I.V. administration of essential
phospholipids rich in phosphatidylcholine are able to reverse age-related
changes in the lipid composition of heart muscle cells. This
regenerative effect is manifested by an improvement in blood enzyme levels
(like CPK), improved heart and lung function, and by increased longevity
in the treated individual. Studies on laboratory animals indicate
that treating relatively aged animals with phosphatidylcholine over an
extended period increases animal lifespan by an average of about 36%.
