Articles on Adrenal Disorders
ADRENAL FATIGUE
The adrenal is the small hormone producing gland that sits on top of each kidney. The autopsy of President John F. Kennedy was remarkable for a number of its findings, and missing items, but one thing was clear…the pathologists could not find his adrenal glands! That was because the President suffered from Addison’s disease, and required external steroid medication to stay alive. The exogenous steroids also had the effect of turning off pituitary stimulation of the adrenal, thus leading to what we call “atrophy” or shrinkage of the gland.

Adrenal Fatigue (SALT)
According to natural medicine specialists, adrenal insufficiency is most often due to undergoing stress for long periods of time, which eventually causes the adrenal gland to give out. This implies that the condition may be a result of a prolonged state of high cortisol levels, similar to fibromyalgia.

ADRENAL FUNCTION
In alternative health circles, there are many articles on the thyroid gland. If a person takes their temperature when they first get out of bed and it is below 97.6 degrees, they are thought to have hypothyroidism. More commonly at Caring Medical, we find that people with low basal body temperatures suffer from adrenal insufficiency.

ADRENAL, UNDERACTIVE ADRENAL GLANDS
When underactive adrenal glands produce insufficient amounts of corticosteroids, the result is an adrenal insufficiency, also known as subclinical hypocortisolism. Often confused with even rarer Addison’s disease, this condition affects 4 out of every 100,000 people. Males and females are equally affected, and it can occur at any age.

Strengthening ligaments and other connective tissue can help prevent bone on bone arthritis from developing.
